The 2025 Workshop on the France-ChinaCooperation in Theoretical Chemistry (Hefei), jointly organized by the Embassy of France in China and the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was held at the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) from September 25 to 26, 2025. The conference brought together dozens of leading scholars in theoretical chemistry from China and France to engage in in-depth discussions centered on two major themes: materials and biological systems, and new methodologies in theoretical chemistry.

At the opening ceremony, Wang Chen, Deputy Director of the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange at USTC, delivered a welcome address on behalf of the university. Experts from institutions including École Normale Supérieure de Lyon, Université Paris-Saclay, Université de Lorraine, Gustave Eiffel University, Sorbonne University, Chimie ParisTech, as well as the University of Science and Technology of China, Fudan University, Nanjing University, Xiamen University, Shandong University, and Westlake University, shared their latest research aadvances and frontier developments in theoretical chemistry through academic discussions and invited presentations. These exchanges stimulated lively discussions among participating scholars and received an enthusiastic response from attending faculty members and students.
